Microsoft to release beta version of Internet Explorer 9 soon after IE turns 15
Global software giant Microsoft Corporation has announced the launch of the much-awaited first beta product of Internet Explorer 9 on September 15. The launch of Internet Explorer 9 also marks the golden 15 years of the Internet Explorer, which has been dominating the market since its first introduction way back in 1995. In fact the thundering success of the Internet Explorers has been closely related to the popularity of the Windows and during the past one decade, the IE hit the highest point of 95 per cent. Nevertheless, the market scenario underwent a change following the launch of other Web browsers, such as Mozilla, FireFox, Chrome, Opera and Safari. As per the statistics made available by Net applications, even after 15 years of its launch, Internet Explorer retains the major market share with 60.74 per cent. The others – Chrome enjoys a market share of 7.1 per cent, Firefox 22.91 per cent, Safari 5.09 per cent and Opera 2.45 per cent. Meanwhile, industry experts said that in the recent years, the Internet Explorer is once again regaining some of its lost ground and market share at the cost of Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. According to them, the Internet Explorer is bouncing back with its predominant market dominance. An online report quotes James Pratt of Microsoft Corporation as saying that Microsoft Corporation is proud that it has been able to keep upon its commitment. At the same time, he pointed out that during the MIX10 organized in August; Microsoft had introduced the first IE Platform Preview. During the same event Microsoft had promised a continuous updating process. Such constant efforts have recently led to the release of fourth IE Platform review. Pratt further said that each release has supported markups like HTML5, ECMAScript5, CSS3 and others. According to the Microsoft executive, as result of the faster release of one product compared to the previous one marked an improvement of score on the accepted micro standards such as the Web Kit’s Sun Spider. Pratt concluded that IE test Drive Site has been instrumental in promoting a completely new Web experience that has been achieved by making use of Windows and modern hardware. Further, along with high speed, Internet Explorer 9 equips the same markup to be functional across varied browsers.
